Dean from Grey Harbor Lures,  out of Long Island, New York, is crafting cedar plugs by hand, with purpose, and built to fish. Every plug starts with  a baluster of cedar and is shaped, sealed, and finished to handle the punishment that comes with serious time on the water.

These aren’t shelf pieces — they’re workhorses. Each plug is through-wired with hardened stainless steel and paired with 4X VMC hooks and 135 lb swivels to give you the confidence to fish hard in current, around structure, or into that blitz without hesitation.

• Durability and Resistance: Cedar, particularly Alaskan Yellow Cedar, is naturally resistant to rot and water, making it durable in both freshwater and saltwater.
• Buoyancy and Action: Its buoyancy enables a consistent swimming motion and allows it to maintain a "straight track" at high trolling speeds without blowing out.
• Scent Absorption: Unlike plastic, raw cedar can absorb fish oils and scents, turning the lure into a, in some cases, scented attractant.
• Natural Vibe: Cedar provides a unique, low-pitched vibration that closely mimics injured baitfish, which is highly attractive to predators like tuna.
• Workability: It is relatively easy to carve and shape, which helps in creating detailed, effective baitfish imitations.
